MONTHLY: Gyotaku Art Lunch
Gyotaku is an ancient Japanese method that translates as gyo (fish) and taku (impression), a ritual originally used by fishermen to record prized catches
Since 2020, Gyotaku printing has been a unique and creative part of how Pipit Restaurant explores seafood, dining and seasonal menus. Chef and co-owner Ben Devlin shares this art process in Pottsville, as the only modern restaurant in Australia where this can be experienced
NEW MONTHLY ART LUNCH -on the last Saturday of each month - gives access to this experience that is usually reserved for private groups
Join an intimate group (10 seats max) gathered around the Chef’s Counter, where you’ll watch Ben demonstrate whole-fishing ink printing, share stories and gain firsthand knowledge about the ethos of sustainable and seasonal seafood, while also experiencing a memorable 5 course seafood-led tasting menu, connecting art and food to the Tweed’s coastal landscapes.
