PRINT & FRAMING INFORMATION

GYOTAKU ART: FULFILMENT TIMES
To minimise wastage, we frame and print on-demand once an order is placed.
Timelines may vary

  • Unframed prints: 1-2 week (can be more in busy periods like June or Christmas)

  • Framed prints - 4-6 weeks (can be more in busy periods like June or Christmas)

  • Once packed, print shipping can take from 3-5 business days in Metro areas, up to 10 business days for rural areas

POSTER PAPER

Poster prints are based on

  • Original art works are scanned and then digitally printed to posters

  • A2 sized (420mm X 594mm)

  • Art paper thickness guide. To help understand paper weights: 80gsm is common copy paper, 200+gsm is thicker postcards

  • PAPER CHOICE - Standard paper or Premium Washi

  • 1) PREMIUM - Washi Torinoko Paper (110gsm) is textured.

    • Evokes the same thin rice-paper used in the original Gyotaku prints as our most recommended choice

    • Look and feel of hand-made Japanese paper (40% mulberry/60% hemp)

    • Produced using specialised Japanese paper-making machine called a Tanmo machine

    • Museum/archival quality and acid free

  • 2) STANDARD - Matte Art Paper (188gsm cotton rag) is bright white paper with smooth surface

    • Hahnemühle Photo Rag is one of the most popular fine art papers worldwide.

    • Smooth matte surface, 100% cotton base, and natural white tone

    • Museum/archival quality and acid free

FRAMING

Our framing is based on:

  • 50mm borders around artwork

  • The art is “shadow mounted” meaning it “floats” above the backing board

    Artwork mounted to acid-free backing

  • FRAME CHOICE - choose black or oak (light timber frame)

  • GLASS CHOICE -

    • 1) PREMIUM - Tru View Art Glass is non-reflective and is the best for clearer art display

    • 2) STANDARD - Acrylic - 99% UV filtering and reflective. Lighter and shatter-proof

  • Shipping of art prints if direct from printers and is included in the price

  • Please email us directly for INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

  • We do not offer same-day or express service.


PICK UP

  • Original art prints are available for local pick up

  • Reproduction art posters and frames are NOT available for local pick up. These are shipped directly from our printer

RETURNS /DAMAGES

  • No exchanges or refunds on changes of mind.

  • We accept that on some very rare occasions, items may be become damaged in transit. Please inspect your order once received and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged so that we can evaluate the issue and provide an appropriate solution
