Meet Ben

Ben has over 15 years of experience as a chef working in Australia and overseas. Having grown up in Byron Bay, he returned to the Northern Rivers region in 2015 to work as Executive Chef at Paper Daisy in Cabarita Beach. Under Ben’s leadership, Paper Daisy has been recognised with a number of national restaurant awards.

In 2014, he won QLD Good Food Guide’s Young Chef of the Year while working as head chef of Brisbane’s first three-hatted restaurant, Esquire, and previous to that spent two years working as chef-de-partie at Noma in Copenhagen.

Whilst Ben is armed with fine-dining credentials, Pipit is a refreshing step away from formalities. His upbringing has given him a keen sense of problem-solving and a desire to build from the ground up, and making the effort to create everything from scratch – from bread, ice creams, to ham and misos.
